If you were born in the 90s/00s like I was then you most likely remember the titan that was the Nintendo Wii. This thing was everywhere, I don’t think I had a friend who didn’t have one, and whenever I visited them or they visited me we would spend hour after hour playing everything from Super Mario Galaxy to LEGO Star Wars.

The best game on the system though, and the one that everyone had by default, was Wii Sports; a game where you could play a collection of real life sports that had been fashioned to work via the Wii’s stick-shaped remote. I loved this game, I still love this game, I was playing this game just last week (it doesn’t matter when you’re reading this, I was playing Wii Sports that week). However, the only proper way to know how good a game is, is if there’s a sequel. Wii Sports has this, in the shape of Wii Sports Resort.

Wii Sports Resort improved on everything about the original. It had more games, better versions of the original games, beautiful visuals, and an improved achievement system. My childhood was filled with Cycling, Watersports, Pilotting, and Sword Fighting, all without leaving the comfort of my own home. I have always wanted to find a way to honour this game, and now, with me attempting new challenges, I think I have found the perfect thing to do.

The Wii Sports Resort Main Menu – Nintendo, 2009

This is my Wii Sports Resort challenge, where I am going to attempt to play every sport from Wii Sports Resort in real life. Some of these will be easy like table tennis and basketball, but others like Air Sports and Power Cruising I truly have no idea how I will achieve it; that’s why it’s a challenge! This page is where I’ll keep track of my progress so be sure to check back often, I really have no idea how long this challenge is going to take me but it will all show up here!

For now though,

THATS THE GAME,

Cassie
